A BETTER WAY TO SEARCH FOR DOCS

PROJECT BRIEF

When Cisco Acquired Meraki our team was tasked with working with Meraki to onboard their developer documentation and web portal. We worked closely with their product teams to not just onboard their docs but provide features that help developers. We helped bring the ability to make their API docs easier to read and provide features to allow developers to interact with the API calls in their browsers.

RESULTS

– Most viewed page on developer.cisco.com
– Cross-collaboration between two teams in different groups on multiple different time zones
– 9.5 NPS score
– Nominated for a DevPortal Awards 2024

Creating actionable learning

One thing we tried to do is make things actionable. We worked with our developer advocates to create quick and actionable ways to set up common things developers would be deploying with Meraki.

Working to make docs actionable

We did not just want to onboard their docs as they were. We worked with Cisco Meraki product team and our developer advocates to add features users were asking for. One of those asks was making Swagger docs easier to read as well as making it so that you can interact with the API right in the document.
