A BETTER WAY TO SEARCH FOR DOCS

PROJECT BRIEF

When Cisco acquired Meraki our team was tasked with working with Meraki to onboard their developer documentation and web portal. We worked closely with their product teams not only to onboard their documentation but also to provide features that help developers. We made their API documentation easier to read and added features that allowed developers to interact with API calls directly in their browsers.

RESULTS

– Most viewed page on developer.cisco.com
– Cross-collaboration between two teams in different groups and time zones.
– 9.5 NPS score
– Nominated for a DevPortal Awards 2024

Creating actionable learning

One thing we focused on was making the documentation actionable. We worked with our developer advocates to create quick, actionable ways for developers to set up common Meraki deployments.

Working to make docs actionable

We didn’t want to simply onboard their existing documentation as-is. We worked with Cisco Meraki product team and our developer advocates to add features users were asking for. One request was to make the Swagger documentation easier to read while allowing developers to interact with the API directly within the documentation.
